Bankruptcy – What a difference a year makes
We have been through a lot of changes here at Church Chair Industries since the Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Reorganization in November 2010. We haveconsistently made vast improvements in every area and the result is a much stronger company than ever before.
The decision for filing of the Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Reorganization was not made lightly. We weighed all of our options and felt it was truly the only way that this company would ever survive. We wanted to be able to continue to take care of and serve our customers and we knew the only way to do that was to reevaluate, regroup and reorganize. The initial effects of the Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Reorganization on our customers caused this to be an agonizing decision for us. It resulted in a lot of upset and backlash but unfortunately it simply had to be done. Pretty much everyone will agree that it is hard to admit failure and defeat………. especially when you feel you are letting others down in the process. But as writer David Feherty says “it’s how you deal with failure that determines how you achieve success”. Church Chair Industries didn’t just give up and quit……….. even when faced with bad press and publicized negativity……….. we carried on and were determined to turn a bad situation into something good and positive.
There were many mistakes made by Church Chair Industries management that was in place prior to the Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Reorganization. It’s certainly not beneficial in any way to point fingers but the first plan of action was to remove those individuals.
We then restructured all levels of management and made major changes to the internal structure here at Church Chair Industries……. all of which have allowed us to become more profitable and most importantly has allowed us to better serve our customers and employees. We have a new president who has helped us operate leaner and smarter and we are growing stronger each and every day.
Church Chair Industries welcomes the opportunity to answer any questions or concerns that you might have regarding the Reorganization efforts. We will gladly give you customer referrals and do everything possible to assure you that we are still a reliable, trustworthy company and worthy of your business. As always we strive to remain the industry leader in seating beauty, comfort and quality.
Church Chair Industries Bankruptcy – About The BBB
Since filing for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy reorganization in November 2010 we have had numerous customers who have called us concerning our rating with the Better Business Bureau. The Better Business Bureau used to be a consumer advocacy group that the public could turn to for information on businesses reliability but that is apparently no longer the case.
For more than a year now most BBB articles in the press are almost always followed by more negative comments than positive ones from readers. There have been numerous reports, blogs and articles over the last 14-16 months that indicate that the BBB has acted questionably to say the least. To quote many the BBB is not the place for consumers to start with trust and is not worthy of the membership dues it charges. They are in short no longer deserving of the self-proclaimed trust that was once placed in them for delivering credible and reliable information on businesses to consumers.
The BBB claims to never favor it’s dues-paying members yet their very existence depends on the money it collects from the same businesses it furnishes reports on. And obviously businesses join the BBB with good intent….. but it is hard to distinguish the good ones from the bad ones when an accurate grading system is not in place. For example, at least 22 banks held passing “grades” from the BBB when they were closed by the FDIC in 2010 and many held A+ ratings with the BBB. When failing businesses can get high ratings such as that it makes one question what truth really hides beneath the accreditations of BBB and ultimately why they would assist businesses in hiding truth from the consumer.
It has been stated that the BBB does not have the expertise or manpower to meet the promise it makes to truly protect customers. Therefore maybe the best plan of action is to investigate on your own. Talk to other customers, get referrals and do your homework. Call the company yourself and ask questions. We at Church Chair Industries welcome the opportunity to talk with you about our Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Reorganization. We have made every effort to right our wrongs with our previous customers who were caught under the Chapter 11 Bankruptcy and have given full disclosure to our customers concerning the internal changes that have been made here in the company. Our past reputation is what has brought us through this most difficult time and we expect it to carry us on through the future. We will always be THE chair company you can turn to for your seating needs.
WHY CHOOSE CHURCH CHAIR INDUSTRIES FOR YOUR SEATING NEEDS?
If you’ve been shopping around for seating then you have probably already heard tons of reasons as to why you should choose one chair company over another. Seating is a large investment for any church or organization and should be handled as such. Pricing, warranties, and customer service…….. all these things should be taken into consideration.
Church Chair Industries has been in business for 25+ years and bottom line………we know how to service your seating needs. We’ve seen chair companies come and go over the years and even through the financial difficulties and the Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Reorganization that we went through back in 2010, we still remain the industry leader in sanctuary seating. We have proven that despite these difficulties we stand for fairness and integrity and will always find a way to make it right for our customers. We strive to provide the best value for your church or organizations budget and to find new and innovative ways to improve our products. Of course as always we want to provide you with the best possible customer service experience throughout your purchase and delivery and make sure that you feel secure and confident in your decision to buy with our company.
While our main customer base consists of churches and religious organizations we also service funeral homes, hospitality, government and military organizations. We also handle international orders and have shipped chairs worldwide to over 49 countries from Canada to Australia. Our product line offers a wide variety of chairs and options but we do have the ability to manufacture custom orders. We offer this service because we recognize that some churches or organizations may have special requirements for their seating needs. The fact that our frames are custom made here in our factory allows for us to be much more flexible with our designs.
“If you have any questions about this service please call and speak to one
of our knowledgeable sales people and they will be happy to assist you.”
In an ongoing effort to become an emission free facility, promote environmental conscientiousness and more effectively meet the needs of our customers we implemented the use of “Green Foam” in all of our chair orders. Church Chair Industries “Green Foam” is a unique product……… it combines the use of renewable raw material with a new technology with a virtually emission-free manufacturing process while still maintaining the superior performance of our traditional foam. This process creates higher quality cushioning material in a variety of density and firmness and organic, halogen free fire retardants.
As you can see we make every effort to accommodate our customers needs. Our goal is to remain THE chair company you choose for your seating needs and to continue to provide the world with seating beauty, comfort and quality.

Church Chair Industries, Inc. BOUNCES BACK with Reorganization
re•or•gan•i•za•tion [ree-awr-guh-nuh-zey-shuh n] noun
definition: the act or process of reorganizing; in finance a reconstruction of a business corporation, including a marked change in capital structure, often following a failure and receivership or bankruptcy trusteeship.
Yes it’s common knowledge that Church Chair Industries filed a Chapter 11 back in November 2010. What may not be common knowledge is the fact that Chapter11 is not a dead end. Chapter 11 is a REORGANIZATION. Delta did it; Kmart did it and so did Hostess. Yet no one truly fears buying a plane ticket or using the layaway plan; and we certainly don’t lose any sleep over our ability to go out and buy a Twinkie : ) Bottom line: people were not afraid to put trust back into these companies nor did they really express doubts that these companies would bounce back from their financial difficulties. These companies came out of their difficulties stronger and more able to meet their customers needs. Church Chair Industries has truly BOUNCED BACK and has made an amazing comeback from where we were this time last year.
There were many mistakes made within the company prior to November 2010. Those affected by these mistakes might see this as an understatement….. but honestly…….who among us has not experienced some type of failure? Henry Ford said “Failure is only the opportunity to begin again more intelligently”. Getting up and starting over is never easy but we have made huge strides in this last year and continue to grow and prosper.
Once the Chapter 11 was started all levels of management were revamped. Mismanagement and bad business decisions created the problems but new leadership and management have untangled the mess that we found ourselves in back in 2010. Major changes to internal structure were necessary to the advancement and reconstruction of the company. The new president of the company came in and made adjustments on every level and we are now operating leaner and smarter which allows us to better serve our customers.
Trust is so very important to our customers and while that may have been tarnished at one time we feel that we are gaining that back. Church Chair has emerged from our financial storm much healthier and stronger and will continue to strive in serving the world in seating beauty, comfort and quality. Thank you all for your continued support! God bless!
Church Chair Industries, Inc. serves the world in seating beauty, comfort and quality. Our reputation for integrity, service and quality has brought us to the present and will continue to serve you in the future.
Church Chair Industries Bankruptcy – Negative reviews
We’ve all seen them. They are quite plentiful on the internet and in newspapers. There is usually always at least a slight hint of truth to them and ultimately they can sometimes be quite helpful to the consumer.
The most serious drawback is that once the originating problem has been solved the negative reviews are still “hanging” around out there somewhere. Typically people don’t go back and recant reviews or comments or even bother to make amendments to them. This leaves the company that the reviews were made on holding the proverbial bag so to speak. How to handle this? Some resources strongly recommend taking no action at all……… wait for it to die down or go away they say. (That’s almost always easier said than done)
Church Chair Industries went through some tough times during the Chapter 11 Bankruptcy in 2010 and there have been a lot of negative comments and stories posted about that. Focusing on negativity is very easy…….. but focusing on the positive is what truly makes a difference. During the course of the Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Reorganization things have been misquoted and misunderstood and of course once those things are seen and heard it’s extremely difficult to erase those images.
Companies that have been through a Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Reorganization would most certainly agree that it is a struggle. Trying to restore credibility and trust is by no means an easy task. We have made a constant and concerted effort since November 2010 to make the changes necessary to make right our wrongs. During that process we have satisfied a large number of our customers who had the unfortunate experience of being caught under the Church Chair Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Reorganization. It does not erase what those customers have experienced because of the bankruptcy but it is definitely a positive step in the right direction. We have also continued to acquire new customers with whom we have started a new relationship despite those negative comments and reviews. We have also had a lot of continued support and understanding from our past customers who have been returning to us for their seating needs.
Our prayer is to continue to grow as we have since Nov 2010 and to remain the industry leader in seating beauty, comfort and quality. Should you have any questions or concerns about our company or our services please feel free to call, write or email and speak with us about it. We welcome the opportunity to talk with you.
